Conjunctivitis can be bacterial or a viral. Viral usually self limiting and cures in a weeks time but treatment fastens the recovery. To differentiate b/w them, bacterial is usually fulminating and in variably require treatment. Viral presents with a sub conjunctival haemorrahage. That will give you an idea.
For treatment part, I would recommend:
1. antibiotic and antiinflammatory combo i.e moxifloxacin+ ketorolac drops. Initially keep the frequency high as 8 times and with improvement lower it to 4 times a day.
2. add an artificial tear to soothe your itching sensation. CMC 4 times will be sufficient

Hope it help you
