Suggest Treatment For Constant Coughing, Itchy Eyes And Runny Nose

Hello, My childs allergies have been out of control today. I gave him Claritin this morning, yet his teachers said he was still suffering with itchy eyes and runny nose. This evening I gave him Benadryl along with nasonex. In between Claritin and Benadryl he used his inhaler because he was coughing non stop. Its now 11:30pm and he has been coughing none stop since he got home from school. (also has been sleep since about 6:30pm) Any suggestions? FYI: he is 7yrs old

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Itchy eyes and running nose suggest influenza. I suggest you to take an anti-histaminic for these symptoms. In case there is no relief within few days then you may consult your primary healthcare provider.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
