Hello,
You have history of taking statins since a prolonged time, since you were 21. Such prolonged usage of medicines may not do good. Statins have side effects and need close monitoring, it can cause
liver and muscle damage, some complain of
joint pains. Talk to your treating doctor so that medicines can be replaced with some that suits you better. Since you are having
muscle pain and joint pain associated with pain in the ribs, calf and back, it may be indicative of
fibromyalgia or musculoskeletal disorders, muscles strain , OA, RA, neuropathy, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get required tests, investigations and imaging tests done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Since you don't tolerate medicines, you can switch to healthy diet and healthy lifestyle to manage your symptoms but it may take some time. You will have to be patient.
You are suggested to take home made balanced diet cooked in olive oil. Avoid spicy oily food. Take whole cereals cooked well. Take fruits, berries, veggies. Take lean meat, small fishes and vegetarian protein. Avoid excess intake of salty food, carbs,
trans fat, sugar, cheese, full fat dairy products,
smoking, alcohol, etc. If obese, loose weight. Do regular walking & exercises. Take adequate sleep, stay well hydrated. Include anti inflammatory food in your regular diet. Include usage of turmeric in your recipes. Take frequent gentle
massage. Stay away from addictions if any.
