Suggest Treatment For Constipation And GERD

Hi, my brother who is downs syndrome, is suffering with constipation, and diarahha, his Dr. Said to try stool softerners and miralax, I read about this IBGARD and was wondering if this would work, he also has gerd, one day he s constipated and the next day he has diarahha, would appreciate any advice or information. Thank you.

I can understand your concern.
Your brother is having alternative diarrhoea and constipation.
This is characteristic feature of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Most common cause for IBS is stress and anxiety. He is also having GERD which is also caused by stress and anxiety.
So in my opinion, he should first consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in his life and start working on its solution.
He may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Once his stress, anxiety are controlled his diarrhoea and constipation will also subside.
He should also take librax for IBS.
Don't worry, he will be alright with all these.
Ask him to avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
