General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The spotting and constipation are not typical symptoms of pregnancy. You have been on Depo injections so you are protected from pregnancy. The absence of periods as well as spotting are much common while in Depo injections. Thus, you don't need to use a back up birth control method.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
