Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Indigestion

Have had strange to me bowel movements for a bit, all shapes and sizes, sometimes very foul smelling. Sometimes constipated, all over the board. Feeling indigestion more often now, wondering if this is irritable bowl? Seem to never get entire stool out

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome. Some basic tests such as complete blood count, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, stool for ova, parasite, occult fecal blood, thyroid test is essential for arriving at a diagnosis. Sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy may also be required. Proton pump inhibitors should be taken before food in order to reduce acidity and reflux symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
