Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Loss Of Appetite

My 65 yo husband started having some constipation, unwell feeling and loss of appetite 5 days ago. He normally has regular bowel movements and has never been constipated. Her ate nothing but did have some liquids the following 2 days and did not have a bowel movement. On the 4th day he began to have some diarrhea finally passed some solid stool. He ate some oatmeal and some soup. Today, the 5th day, he is feeling slightly better but has respiration of about 24/min and they appear labored to me. He has had diarrhea several times today and has missed work this week for the 1st time in 15 yrs. refuses to go to dr.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Possibly he has been overusing the laxatives because of being constipated and that's why diarrhea started. Please stop the laxatives treatment. Take probiotics such enterogerina or yovita

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
