General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the painful rectal bleeding with constipation can be related to 2 main possible issues as:
(A) acute fissure
(B) hemorrhoids

Precise diagnosis needs consulting with consultant surgeon and examination of proctoscopy or anoscopy on OPD basis. However, till that time, following measures will help you for better recovery and relief:
- Drink more liquids
- High fiber diet with green leafy veg, organic fruits
- Bulk forming laxative as Ispaghula husk
- Avoid spices, non veg, junk items, dairy fat
- Sitz bath (sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water 3 times a day, specifically after passing stool)
- Analgesic medication after meals
- Avoidance of smoking, alcohol at present if consuming
- Local application of xylocaine (5%) jelly

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
