Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Rectal Pain

I had unprotected anal sex recently and I now I am experiencing symptoms which include mucus, blood, constipation, BURNING but no visible signs around my anus. Two days afterward, I noticed my anus was sensitive to the touch, but that pain is gone now. My partner does have herpes on the lip, but not on the penis. These symptoms have been constant for a week. No ulcers or blisters. I alao have Psoriasis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is important that you be checked for STDs such as herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea as these may cause proctitis and the symptoms that you just explained.
Some of these infections may need oral antibiotics and these are prescription-only drugs, which means one can only access if he sees a doctor.

Meanwhile, to help with constipation you will need to take Movicol 2 sachets a day to help the stools be soft and easy to move and also make sure you drink plenty of water.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
