Suggest Treatment For Constipation Causing Rectal Bleeding
hlo sir, sir i suffered constipation few months back,i then started straining and then it became fissure and resulted into severe pain and burning sensation .Now also im suffering from this, blood is coming from my stool and its paining a lot and also a burning sensation
In most cases, causes of abdominal pain and bleeding through rectum are benign and include hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps.
These are primarily treated with stool softener, diet and sitzbaths. It is very important to take lot of fluids, probiotics, high fibre food and stool softeners to avoid hard stool and straining.
If there is no improvement in next few weeks, then surgical management should be considered.
Other causes may be more serious and include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss.
Otherwise, you can see if conservative therapy will help and consult proctologist if necessary.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
