General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Irritable bowel syndrome with diverticulitis gives rise to infection in an impacted segment of intestines, which can cause constipation.

You need to recognize the type of infection in acute exacerbation of IBS followed by expert advise to treat the causative infection with specific medicine advised by a gastroenterologist. Please meet an expert.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
