Suggest Treatment For Constipation While On Naproxen

My brother has developed this problem . He cannot hold things for example telephone with his right hand. He suffers from arthritis and takes oxygen cylinder at night to help him breathe. His stomach has gone big over past year. He has suffered with constipation for past 2 years . He takes naproxen for pain in his legs( joints)

You can use Syrup Duphalac(lactulose). Normal dosing is 15ml with luke warm water at bed time.
The condition you mentioned also may be a result of inflammatory bowel syndrome due to long term use of naproxen.
If duphalac does not help, you may initially use mesacol (800mg) thrice daily for 10 days, when constipation subsides continue Mesacol(800mg0 once at bed time for 3 month. After that you may use mesacol in same manner.
