Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain urge to pass the stool but unable to evacuate the bowel seems to be due to
Chronic constipation and can be due to causes like excess intake of antacids, side effects of medications [if you take any],laxative abuse,
irritable bowel syndrome, excess intake of dairy, eating disorders, lack of appropriate physical activity, side effects of medicines,
Hypothyroidism, disorders related to nerves and muscles of digestive tract leading to its weakening, stool impaction etc..
If there is any underlying medical problem that is leading to constipation then drinking plenty of water will not solve the problem alone and you need to get a proper evaluation and treatment of the underlying problem done to relieve the symptoms..
As of now you should start taking a high fibre diet and add more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and salads to diet..
You should do moderate workout on daily basis and make a habit of taking walk after meals..
You should also go to washroom same time in the morning every day as it will help in improving your chances or regularizing your motions although initially you might not get success to pass the stools..
Keep drinking 3 to 4 litres of water a day..
In case if you do not seem improvement in a week to ten days
consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can advise you get investigations done like
Colonoscopy, Barium swallow, hormonal assy etc to confirm the cause..
You can also be advised to take laxatives like
Polyethylene glycol [Miralax], castor oil also acts as a lubricant and laxative..
You can also be advised to take Psyllium husk or Lactulose..
Take more fibres in diet, plenty of water and do moderate workout..
You can also be advised medications like
Lubiprostone or Linaclotide..
At times to ease up of impacted bowels saline enema can be given to remove the bowels and then the medications are given to ease and regularize bowels..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
