Suggest Treatment For Contact Dermatitis

8 weeks ago I developed a raw red rash on my left testicle. It was examined by a doctor who identified it as contact dermatitis. I used topical Muprocin antibiotic ointment for around 10 days. The skin turned white, and then appeared to resolve. However, ever since there has been a kind of wrinkled or pitted patch of skin where the rash was the sometimes itches slightly. This skin condition has now spread to most of my scrotum. It is not hard or scaly or even red, but occasionally itches mildly. Advice?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have contact dermatitis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , psoriasis , skin infection , sun allergy or fungal infection . I would suggest you to keep your skin clean and dry , protect it from sun , apply only petroleum jelly and take anti histamine like benadry twice a day . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination .Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test , blood test , allergy test and take history to rule out the side effects of certain drug . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressnats along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . Doctor may also prescribe anti fungal like fluconazole or anti bacterial like clindamycin .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
