Suggest Treatment For Cough And Chest Congestion
I have had a cough and chest congestion since Feb. 26, 2015. I ve had a chest x-ray, everything ok there. I ve have two antibiotics, z pak and cylodexcline something or another, and a allergy shot. Still congestion. And promethazine-codn for the cough. Pflem is clear, when there is any. So tired of the rattling in the chest. Cough has eased up, but still pflem. Whats left to do?

You may want to try a mucolytic.
This is a medication that helps to break up the mucus so that it can be expelled easier.
Eg are bisolvan, guiafenesin, mucomyst
One of these can be used and would be available over the counter.
Using enough fluids to help decrease the thickness of the secretions would also help.
