Hi,

Cough and chest pain can be caused by a variety of factors, including respiratory infections, allergies, asthma, and more serious conditions like pneumonia or bronchitis. Given that you have asthma, your cough and chest pain may be related to an asthma exacerbation or related respiratory issues.

It's important to see a healthcare professional for an evaluation, especially since your symptoms have been persisting for three weeks and are worsening. They may perform a physical exam, chest x-ray, and/or lung function tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms. They may also prescribe medications to help manage your symptoms, such as bronchodilators or corticosteroids.

In the meantime, you can try to manage your symptoms by staying hydrated, using a humidifier, avoiding triggers that may aggravate your asthma, and taking over-the-counter cough suppressants or pain relievers as directed. However, it's important to follow your healthcare professional's advice and not self-diagnose or self-medicate.

If you require a personalized response, kindly use the Ask A Doctor service and post a follow-up. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.

Regards,
