Suggest Treatment For Cough And Fever Post Bronchitis Treatment
I have had a bronchitis since Nov. 8th. I have had a Z pack, methylpredisone 4mg/8per day every other day for 7 doses, 3 shots of solumedral, doxycycline 100 mg 2X/day for 10days. Finished steroid last Tuesday and antibiotic yesterday. Feeling awful low grade fever 99, coughing like crazy, dizzy. What should I do next?
Don't use steroid without knowing the cause. Possible causes for chronic bronchitis 1. Allergen or environmental pollution. 2. Infection like pneumonia, tuberculosis or aspergillosis or tropical eosinophilia etcetera. 3. A systemic failure like CKD and heart failure. 4. An allergic variant of asthma etcetera.
So please consult your pulmonologist he will take a chest x-ray and sputum culture and sensitivity. Sputum examination for tubercular, gram staining bacteria. Blood investigation for eosinophil count, pulmonary function tests, HRCT etcetera. After investigation, he will treat you accordingly.
