Suggest Treatment For Cough And Runny Nose In A Child
My toddler is 2 yrs old. She had a fever on Thursday and vomited once. Slight fever on Friday as well. By Saturday she was fine and Sunday even better. We went to the pool for about an hour and she played on the steps . I noticed she was playing with one of her toys and she started coughing. She drank some of the pool water. The rest of the day she was fine. Last night she started with a bit of a cough . Today she has been coughing alot and runny nose (clear) and clammy but no fever. I m wondering because of the way she was pouring the water from the toy if any could have gotten into her lungs or up her nose. Should I take her to the drs??
You may give her syp sinarist for cold and fever, for cough she may require antibiotics after detailed medical examination and pediatrician consultation.
Till then you may give her steam inhalation, use saline nasal drops for congestion.
Keep her well hydrated, maintain proper hygiene.
Hope i have answered your query, let me know if i can assist you further. Thank you.
Regards, Dr Shyam Kale. Family and general physician.
