Suggest Treatment For Cough Associated With Wheezing

I have had a cough associated with wheezing for about four months now. The wheezing is more persistent at night. However the cough comes and goes sometimes producing mucus as well as a metallic taste in the mouth. Over the last 3 to 4 days, I have been woken by a coughing fit that leaves me so short of breath that I can barely breathe. It feels like my chest is caving in. And I have to go and take a walk, get a drink, or if worse comes to worse take the inhaler I was prescribed. I have gone to the doctor multiple times and they still can t seem to make it better. I have not had asthma or allergies my entire life. They gave me an inhaler to use to see if anything got better. It did not. They also gave me a prescription steroid. It made me feel better for about a week or so and then it was back. Please help

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that you have taken all the necessary treatment and you have partial effect of that treatment now in my opinion it is better to go for investigation and that includes, routine blood test, x- ray chest, this could cleat the picture, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
