Suggest Treatment For Cough, Runny Nose And Sneezing In An Infant

Hiii My daughter is 8 months old.she is having cough not dry, running nose and sneezing...doctor has prescribed levolin 1.5 ml thrice for 5 days, atarax 1.5 ml thrice for 3 days and fexy suspension 3.5 ml for 5 days....i m giving these for last 3 days but there is not much improvement in cough.please suggest.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of cough, runny nose and sneezing which is due to severe upper respiratory infection and it could be due to sinus infection leading to sinusitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done so as to detect level of infection and treatment can be started accordingly. You should give child proper antibiotic course along with anti inflammatory medication after prescription. You should give child nasal saline rinses 3-4 times a day. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Apply mist humidifiers in room.
