My Pediatrician is on conference trip and will be back on Sunday. My daughter who is 1 year 3 months has been coughing since Saturday and when she coughs , their is lot of flum and sometime she vomits as well . We have given brozedx syrup ( 2 ml ) along with Advent Syrup ( 2 ml ) today . Hope this is fine for her and will the flum in her throat subsides.. Kindly advise
Cough and cold symptoms are most commonly due to viral infection though bacterial infection can also occur. Viral infection does not respond or require antibiotics, their overuse (not this one time use but if used for most cough/colds when not needed) can unfortunately cause resistance and therefore MRSA.
The use of the brozedex would help to break up the mucus so it can come out easily, so this good. You can consider adding a decongestant syrup which would be over the counter at your local pharmacy.
I hope this helps
