Suggest Treatment For Cough With Sputum, Hoarse Voice And Sore Throat
I was on cephalexin for folliculitis. I then got strep throat while I was on cephalexin. I had the penicillin shot. Then I continued to get more sick. I have a cough with sputum, hoarse voice, sore throat in mornings, stomach pain in lower abdomen, slight loss of appetite, and extreme fatigue. I had bloodwork done and it showed that I had a virus, but we are not sure what virus. Also, the strep is gone. This has been going on since last Wednesday. Any advice?
A viral infection may last 7-10 days and the fatigue that results from it may last another week or so. This is especially the case if you had the flu. It is good that the blood tests have not shown any serious infection, so this is another reassuring thing.
I would advise you to just rest as much as possible to give your body time to recover and also make sure you do eat frequent small amounts of food and keep yourself hydrated.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
