Suggest Treatment For Coughing In A Diabetic With High Cholesterol Levels

I know a man showing double character at all the time. Some times he is very angry and after sometimes he is a good person. His family took him to a doc and he gave some treatment and said he has bipolar II. Is there a good treatment/cure for bipolar ? Now that he is coughing for over 4 months. The medical test shown Blood pressure of 280, said he has diabetics and cholesterol - rather high. Do not know the exact readings. What is your suggestion to help him out ? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, needs psychiatric treatment and therapy from psychiatric (cognitive behavioral therapy [CBT], interpersonal and social rhythm therapy [IPSRT], family focused therapy; chronic care model-based interventions). ECT can be needed, depending upon stages inpatient treatment may be needed, BP needs to be stabilized and cholesterol too (cardiologist and psychiatrist are needed for him).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
