Suggest Treatment For Cough,sore Throat And Running Nose

I've been sick for a while and I been coughing alot and sometimes coughing up mucus. I have a sore throat and a stuffy/runny nose. And when I cough the area somewhere around my ribs feel sore. my mom said it kinda sounding like whooping cough because i make that sound sometimes when i cough. Do you know what this is?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have running nose , sore throat , coughing and pain or soreness in chest while coughing . Well the symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like upper respiratory infection ( bacterial or viral ) or whooping cough as you also mention in query . I would suggest you to consult chest specialist . Doctor may order certain test like nose or throat culture and test , blood test , viral cultute test and chest X-ray to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other condition like viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory and decongestants . Hospitalization is necessary in case of severe cough in this case intravenous food and liquid is given . For now take over-the-counter cough medicines, cough suppressants, or expectorants , which give relief from coughing .
