Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of canker sores around the tongue which could be due to nutritional deficiency of iron and vitamin B12, stress and due to hormonal changes.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to:

- Do warm salt rinses.

- Apply ice pops on affected area and apply milk of magnesia.

- Maintain proper oral hygiene .

- Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food.

- Take ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for pain and swelling .

If it persist even after a week then consult oral pathologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe sucralfate, steroid drugs , antibiotics or vitamin B12 supplement.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
