Suggest Treatment For Cutaneous Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis
I'm 19 years old, male and I have recently developed cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis. It started on my feet and showed up all across my shins and inner thigh. No itching , normal blood report, and liver function(ALT) and kidney function(creatinine) test reports. Can't think of any possible drug related causes, am on fenoxifendine(antihistamine) and a topical steroid. No visible reduction, they seem to be coalescing. Any advice/prognosis?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. Apart from the causes mentioned by you, hypersitivity vasculitis could be idiopathic, insect bite or any infection induced, drug induced. As such treatment prescribed is satisfactory, however if no response is seen you may ask your doctor for oral steroids. Also if any infective cause was there oral antibiotics should be given. Other drugs that can be used is cyclosporine, azathioprine etc. Hope this helped. Take care
