Suggest Treatment For Cyst Mass In Brain After Accident

my son had a car accident 5mths ago he suffered headaches which i put down to stress as he was very depressed for 2mths, his GP gave him antidepressiants which he took on and off for a couple of weeks. over the last 3mths he has presented with the likes of hard drug effects, he was not taking heavy drugs but was however smoking pot and drinking. he went for mental health care where they did a ct scan and an MRI, they found a rare cyst mass in his behaviour lobe, and is waiting to see a surgeon. for the past 2 wks he has only been taking a sleeping tab and the occational antianxitey tab, however on monday they started him on bipola meds by mon night he was flipping out again and still is, why would they start these meds without waiting for the surgeons opition
