Suggest Treatment For Dandruff And Hair Loss

Hello, I am 33 years old. I have been having dandruff and white clusters like particles in my scalp and hair loss. I have lost lots of hair in the past 5 months. Everytime I run my fingers through my hair I see 7-8 hair coming off. I am worried. I live in Detroit, Michigan. My dermatoligist wasn t very helpful. He gave me 6 steroid shots at the places where I am having the most hair loss but I feel I am thinning everywhere in the front and crown of my scalp. He didnt really address the over all thinning of hair. He said I have alopecia areata. I have started taking biotin and washing my hair with nizorol. I also have sebowash but I havent started with that yet. Tell me what to do. Is there a way I could call you. Thanks.

Hi,

After reading history you gave,I deeply feel that most probably you may be having seborrheic dermatitis. It is aninflammatory skin disease characterised by greasy flakes on scalp. It may spread to face and intertrigenous areas like axilae and groin. You may be having itching off and on on scalp. Stress,anxiety,infection anywhere in body,poor immunity,yeast on scalp..etc might cause this disease.You immediately consult dermatologist and have perfect treatment.

I would like to suggest as follow...

- antifungal like ketoconazole tab for few weeks
- steroids in tappering dose
- antihistaminics like levocetirizine
- steroid with clotrimazole lotion to apply on scalp daily at night
- ketoconazole shampoo daily
- avoid worries and tension

Have patience to get good result.
