Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there..I have a few thick patches on top of my hand. when I touch them they feel hard. They started a week back as patches of dandruff and which I scratched and removed. I have been applying warm coconut oil to reduce the itching and using nizerol to wash my hair. I have stopped scratching and now my scalp just feels extra dry after I wash it. Should I get in touch with a dermatologist or continue warm coconut oil massage and allow the flakes to fall off?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. I have gone through your problem of dandruff and what you are following is absolutely right. Kindly continue with use of oil and Ketoconazole shampoo. In addition, kindly use Selenium and Zinc containing shampoo alternate days or once in 3 days so that it will help to keep your scalp cells healthy. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
