Suggest Treatment For Dark Vaginal Discharge

Hello I am a 40 year old woman that has noticed that lately I have very dark (almost black) stains on my underwear. I have never had this problem until recently and I have no other symptoms at all. I do take tylenol for pain and am on a diuretic for high blood pressure but this issue started before I was put on the medication for high blood pressure. My dr is booked until sept. Any thoughts would be appreciated ty

1. variation in vaginal discharge [at your age] could be due to change in menstrual cycle, under nutrition and use of birth control pills or could indicate an infection or disease [inflammation or STDs]
2. black discharge might be old blood left after menstruation or embryo implantation or some foreign body inside vagina [tampon or condom] and at your age apart from said causes have a check up with a gynecologist.
PS. every woman above forty should undergo papsmear.
