Suggest Treatment For Decreased Focusing Ability While Having Depression

My friend, does have depression due to lose of her son approximately 18 years ago. She sleeps several hours a day. She complains of lose of focus when she is awake and sometimes tends to be excessively detailed in her tasks around the home by constantly attempting to organize but aaccomplishes very little due to this obsession of organizing and an attempt to over perfect her task at hand. She has told me that because of this loss of focus and depression she feels, everyday task seem so overwhelming that it is just too much for her to even start her chores and therefore, she opts to sleep. She claims that she then does not have to remember about her son s loss and not feel so overwhelmed with home duties. She does have arthritis a bit, but according to her physician her heart and blood pressure is rather awesome for her age and otherwise her health is very good. She has on a few occasions passed out and vomited upon awakening but this has only happened approximately 5xs in the past 2years.(not sure if this even related?) This new doctor, she would never go see a physician until just recently, has prescribed her Aderall 10mg twice a day, and wants her back in 6 weeks. God this is really a lot for you do evaluate without knowing much more but can you give me ANY information that I cod recommend to her to bring to her new doctors attention? Thank you so much!! Hi Susan!
First of all i want to thank you for really being worried of your friend..Good friends are rare these days..
Your friend is suffering from past trauma to her mind which is called as post traumatic stress disorder.
She also has features of mild to moderate depression.
By obsessively engaging in works she may harm her health in an indirect manner.
If this symptoms progress she can commit her self suicide too.
Best thing is to make her doctor aware about her symptoms as she needs psychological treatement.
She needs mental support.
Consult a consultant psychiatrist/ psychologist.
Regards!
