Suggest Treatment For Demyelinating Disease

Hello, Myself Manasi Belani, staying at Pune. My mother is suffering

from Demylation disordered problem. We are trying a lot for her

treatment but not getting solution.

I want your opinion regarding my mother's health. My mom's health summary is as follow:

Mother’s age :61 years

High Blood Pressure Problem : Since last 5 years

Started to Lost weight : 2 years before

Tests taken & result : Thyroid, HIV, urine, and all as suggested by

Doctors. All reports were negative.

Major Problems started from October 2009 were :

1) Looses her balance and cannot control herself

2) Things were falling down from her hands, food was falling down while having dinner and lunch,

3) Lost control of toilet, so many times, she tried to rush to the

bathroom but she couldn’t control.

4) If she falls down and gets injured, you see no reaction on her face and she says – nothing happened to herself.

5) She doesn't speak much now-a-days and remains very quiet.

Brain MRI: 4 Brain MRI reports files have been attached. Latest is of 23/04/10

Hospitalization: Twice. In November 2009 for 6 days. Second week of March 2010 for 3 days.

Treatment at hospital : Solumedrol.

List of Medicines given to my Mom (Current List – 03/05/2010)

High BloodPressure:

1) Listril 2.5/2

2) Ecosprin 75 mg

Demylation treatment:

1) Omnacortil 5 mg for15 days and after that only on alternate days.

Note: Earlier Omnacortil 40 mg has been given then 20 mg and then 10 mg.

2) Calcy 500

3) Neurobion Forte

After first treatment in November 2009, mom was started to get normal but again from the end of February 2010, same things were happening. After second treatment, she is still not normal. Recently few doctors suggested to go for MRI guided brain biopsy. But we feel that it is a very risky process and hence not sure whether to go for it or not.

we can come to hospital with all medical reports for further

discussion.

What is your opinion regarding this case?

Is there any doctor/hospital you can suggest where we can go for her treatement.
