If you really think that you need to see a psychiatrist is ok , there is nothing wrong. But first you need to realize that a psychiatrist is not someone who solve your problems but he can make you understand whats going wrong with you and help you . In my opinion you are afraid to talk to your father for something that concern you so much. You need to make him see how you really feel and what you passing through and then explain that you need medical help.
