Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

The symptoms like lack of energy in moving out of home, hopelessness like thinking that he can't do anything, poor sociality etc are due to depression. He is jobless and this has potentiated his problems. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for his evaluation and treatment. Medicinal treatment and psychological treatment both help in improvement.

Cognitive therapy helps to find out faulty thoughts and cognitive distortions. This will help to lift his mood. Motivation enhancement exercises and counselling help to increase his motivation.

Medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline or other antidepressants like Mirtazepine etc help to improve the symptoms. Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
