Dear Sir,
Irregular heart beat in the fetus is mostly not sugar related. The most common things that happen if sugars were not controlled well is that baby gains too much weight (big Baby- >4.5kgs) and after delivery baby can have hypoglycemia. This irregular heart beat can be a complication of pregnancy itself. this can happen in a non diabetic patient also. Please do not worry, she will do well.
