Hello,

Very likely you are having a gastrointestinal viral infection. It is generally self limiting and you should feel better in a few days.

Meanwhile it is good you are drinking plenty so you can substitute the liquids you loose with diarrhea. Oral rehydration solutions can be found over the counter in the pharmacy and is best to be used as they substitute both liquids and electrolytes (salts) you loose with diarrhea and will help you feel better soon.

It is good to take frequent small amounts of oral rehydration solutions regularly during the day. If no improvement in a few days or any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
