Hi, my 7 months old baby is having diarrhoea. He poops 4-5 times a day. I Brought him to see the GP yesterday and they prescribed him lactoguard. I m hoping he gets better in the next few days. He appears active and his usual self. Please advise if this is alarming. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Passing formed stools for 4 to 5 times in a day is normal for 7 month old infant. Unless it is passing watery stools, there is no need to worry. Lactigaurd is lactobacillus preparation which will keep the gut healthy. You can give for 3 to 5 days.
Keep the baby hydrated with frequent breast feeds.
