Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Stomach Pain

Recently, I started experiencing frequent trips to the toilet. My stools are loose and sometimes more like diarrhea. No blood in the stool and no stomach pain. Primarily sudden urges to have a bm regardless what I eat. Nausea has also been a symptom, but not much. One item worth noting is that my eyes have hurt - similar to sinus pressure pressing against the back of my eyes. Also feeling tired, but that s probably due to the lack of fluids. Please advise. Hello,

You are suffering from loose motion / diarrhea. Your eyes hurt and you are feeling weak. Indigestion/ malabsorption of food, allergies and intolerances to certain foods like lactose intolerance or celiac disease can cause diarrhea. Sometimes, infection by bacteria or by other organisms, certain medication or antibiotics can also cause such symptoms.

Though you are not having blood in stool but you are suggested to get Stool examination (R/E and C/S) and urinalysis (C/S and R.E) done to check for blood, bacterial infections, parasite and inflammatory markers. Get CBC done to rule out medical causes of diarrhea such as a thyroid disorder, celiac sprue and pancreatic disorders.

Get clinically examined and evaluated. In the meantime, you can take antacids or PPIs to prevent acid reflux and gastritis. It will help to reduce pain and discomfort. Take antidiarrheal medicines. If you are having nausea, take anti emetics. Take sips of water whole day. Take fluids, water, ORS, etc. Stay well hydrated. Dehydration will cause headache or start hurting your eyes.

Take bland food like rice (well cooked), mashed potatoes and bananas (boiled and mashed). Take appropriate amount of salt. You can take toast and red tea (with appropriate amount of sugar) so that your blood pressure and blood sugar level is maintained normal. Avoiding foods and drinks that give you gas. Avoid addictions if any. Stay at rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
