Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea During 28th Week Of Pregnancy

Hello Doctor. I am 28 weeks pregnant. I had dysentry from yesterday early morning till evening. I had loose motion for 6 times. I treated it by having rice, banana and ORS. I have not taken any tablets. I am feeling better from yesterday evening and have not gone to bathroom since. My query is that will my dysentry will affect the baby? Do I need to go for check up?

Hello dear
I understand your concern
If there is blood in the stool then it is dysentery otherwise it is simple diarrhea.
Diarrhea mainly due to viral infection and bacterial infections.
Consult the gynecologist and Stool microscopic examination and culture will help in the diagnosis.
Take following advises:
Continue taking rice, banana and ORS.
Take boiled rice with added lemon and salt.
Diarrhea due to virus will goes in the 3-5 days.
If you have blood then take
Tablet metronodazole
Tablet Vubact-DS.
Maintain hydration is the main aim of the treatment.
It will not affect the baby but should be check by USG scan for safer side.
