my daughter has had diarrhea for about 3 days. This morning it was a white, gray color. We ve noticed that it has had a fishy odor to it a few times. She is eating and drinking. She seemed to have a cold at the beginning with a slight fever but no longer has any cold symptoms or fever. only one time was it white/gray in color. that was this morning.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your daughter appears to be having a protozoal infection called giardiasis of her intestines which can be treated by a combination of antiprotozoal and antibiotics like metronidazole and ciprofloxacin. Please keep her hydrated well and consult your physician / pediatrician for above mentioned medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
