Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Lack Of Appetite And Stomach Upset

I was in Costa Rica and I think I may have picked up an intestinal parasite. Looking at the symptoms, I have them, diarrhea, lack of appetite, upset stomach. It started 4 days ago. I haven t eaten much the past 3 days and am thinking that may be why my stomach hurts. I loaded up on Imodium and pepto to make the 12 hour trip home, so the diarrhea has slacked off. How long should I wait to see a doctor, if the symptoms persist?

I can understand your concern.
Yes, possibility of acute gastroenteritis (infection of stomach and intestine) is more for your symptoms.
Do following things for better symptomatic relief.
1. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep your self hydrated.
2. Start oral rehydration solution (ORS).
3. Take zinc tablet and avoid oily and spicy food.
4. Avoid fatty food. Avoid junk food.
5. Start probiotic drugs also.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 3-4 days.
If not improving after 3-4 days then consult doctor.
