Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Viral infection is the most common cause of diarrhea and vomiting in children though they can sometimes be other causes as well.

With viral infections and some bacterial infections , the medications mentioned are not needed.
All that is needed is to make sure he gets enough fluid so that he does not become dehydrated.

If you were directed to use the medications for this particular presentation then they should be continued.

Holding off solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms and continuing to make sure he uses enough fluids are important.
Small amounts of fluids should be given regularly.

If you give large amounts at a time then he would likely vomit.

Pedialyte or a similar rehydration fluid would be best

I hope this helps
