General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Severe dehydration condition is through loss of excess amount of fluids from the body depleting major electrolytes from the gut. Guidelines for better recovery:
- Immediate hospitalization for support with
* Intravenous fluids to support electrolytes management
* Anti emetic
* Proton pump inhibitor
* Intravenous antibiotics
* Control of blood pH, anion gap if any
* Airway, breathing and oxygen saturation control
* Urine output work out to prevent kidney damage

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
