Suggest Treatment For Difficult Urination In A Child
I have a granddaughter age 5 and it alarms me that she does not urinate. often. Last night, she came over to my house around 6 PM and even after my insistence, she did not urinate until the next morning at about 9 AM. Is this common? Am I overreacting?

Suggest Treatment For Difficult Urination In A Child
HI, Her urine output would depend on her intake. If she is drinking enough fluids during the day and not urinating then it is concerning. If she is not using enough fluids then her kidneys will rightfully try and hold on to what fluids are present in the body. You would need to monitor her fluid intake. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
