Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Breathing When Diagnosed With Rhinitis
Last year my daughter struggled to breath throughout April to Sept, we had her checked and tested and she suffers with allergy to all pollen s and house dust-mites. She has also had suspected asthma for most of her life. She is currently on Fexofenadine Hydrochloride for her allergies, along with a nasal spray for rhinitis and is on a preventative inhaler. Most of the time she is so much better than before treatment, however some mornings over the Summer she wakes up struggling to breath and says her chest feels like it is burning. Any ideas what that could be?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The symptoms you describe point to allergic rhinitis. An anti-histamine like Fexofenadine and nasal sprays may help have her symptoms under control.Struggling to breath may suggest some bronchospasm which is common with such respiratory problems and burning chest may be linked to a problem not related to her underlying respiratory problem like gastritis/acid reflux. She will however need to be reevaluated by the Doctor to rule out gastritis/reflux. I will suggest you try the following: -Continue with Fexofenadine and nasal spray -Add a bronchodilator like sulbutus syrup -Avoid cold/smoke/dust She may see the Doctor for evaluation and a respiratory function test.Evaluation for gastritis and an H pylori test may also be useful. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
