Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Chewing And Swallowing With Oral Facial Dyskensia

I have oral facial dyskensia with neuropathy of lower lip, burning and tingling of mouth, lack of saliva, difficulty chewing and swallowing. I have had toxic levels of b6 but it is now back to normal. I have been seeing a neurologist. Am taking gabapentin, chorazapam, and baclofen daily, but with very little relief. Whatnot to know what to try next. I am miserable. Can t chew or swallow either

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
This looks reverse to me.
The gabapentine and / or chlorazepan can cause dryness of the mouth. This dryness cause abrasions in the mouth giving the burning and tingling of the mouth, lack of saliva is due to the same reason and an effect too.
Dryness of the mouth makes it difficult to have chewing and swalloing too.
IT is good that toxic level of B6 is back to normal.
I would suggest such a patient the following.
First of all get a second opinion of another ENT Surgeon to have a local examination to get a proper diagnosis as I have suggested.
Get Saliva substitute available in the market . Get a proper antibiotic, metronidazole and steroid course as this may reverse back the dryness and all the problems may be solved.
Get diabetes ruled out.
Facial dyskinesia and neuropathy do not cause such symptoms you have suggested. Get re-valuated
