Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Swallowing With Brown Discharge

Hi, I ve had tonsillitis for about 4 days now, I can t swallow anything, not even my own spit. It s very painful, today I woke up to be sick and this like brown pus came out. This hasn t happened before and now everytime I swallow I need to spit this brown substance out. Can you help tell me what it is? My neck is also more swollen. Thanks Chloe

Hi,

Tonsillitis with brown pus and inability swallow should be treated. Consult your doctor or go to ER. Get admitted as you need intravenous fluids and electrolytes as you can not swallow anything. Intravenous antibiotics, metronidazole is to treat infection

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
