Suggest Treatment For Difficulty Swallowing Post Cysts Removal
Good evening I had some small cysts removed on Friday and in doing that the Dr gave me 4 needles . The assistant kept puling my tongue in order to allow the Dr. to proceed. Since then I have been first unable to talk or swallow and now almost 36H later I am still in pain and can only swallow - with pain- mashed food and have difficulty in swallowing liquids. should I be worried and is there anything I should to alleviate it. Thank you

Suggest Treatment For Difficulty Swallowing Post Cysts Removal
Hello, I think the pain you are experiencing comes from the surgical procedure and work done to tongue and mouth. This has damaged the mucosal lining. Also the lidocaine anesthesia has suppressed the nerves making food tasteless to you. The effects of anaesthesia will go soon in the following hours. The mucosal lining needs some days to regenerate. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
