I have had grade 3 inverted nipple discharge for almost 6 years now/ ever since I first developed breasts age 12. It s a clear color and has an oily feeling. I get the discharge all the time and it never goes away no matter how many I ve cleaned them(fingernails). Is this normal?

Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Siddartha's Response
Hello,
What is exact age now, I think it is 18 correct? From the beginning itself, if there is inverted nipple, means no problem.
Nipple discharge which is clear most probably might be fibro cystic disease or duct ectasia. And both are benign.
One more question, are you feeling any lump in the breast? My suggestion is please consult general surgeon and have nipple discharge cytology and ultrasound of breast. Surgeon will decide the management
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Siddartha
