Suggest Treatment For Discharge From The Ear

I have a scabby area behind one ear that occasionally gets damp from something oozing. The area is hot pink but not swollen or bloody. I m aware of it and catch myself touching the area several times a day. I noticed this about 2 months ago and it s slowly but surely getting worse. Do I need to see a doctor or is this something I can cure with something over the counter?

Hi,

It looks. Like you are having a sinus infection or external ear chronic infection that is drained through this sinus or even it can be because of a simple furuncle.

You need to take antibiotics like Augmentin 625 twice daily for five to seven days, if it will not work, yes, visit an ENT specialist to get it properly evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
